Five Criteria for Mold Temperature Machine Selection

Standard 1: Determination of the heat transfer medium of the mold temperature machine

Since the mold temperature machine is a general term for water temperature controllers and oil temperature controllers, the scope and scenarios of water temperature controllers and oil temperature controllers are also different depending on the heat transfer medium. The maximum operating temperature of the water temperature machine is 180°C, while the maximum operating temperature of the oil temperature machine is 350°C. First of all, it is necessary to decide whether to use heat transfer oil or water. Within the allowable temperature range, it has good thermal conductivity compared to water, and the water type is preferred.

(1) Water type mold temperature machine

When the temperature requirement of the mold does not exceed 95°C, the working mode of the mold temperature machine is non-closed; when it is higher than 95°C, the closed working mode must be used to ensure a certain pressure inside the system and avoid the evaporation of the heat transfer medium.

(2) Oil mold temperature machine

The temperature control range of the oil-type mold temperature machine is 45-350°C. According to your temperature control requirements, mold temperature controller manufacturers provide a variety of series for you to choose from.

Standard 2: Temperature control range and accuracy of the mold temperature machine

The temperature control range is the maximum temperature and temperature control accuracy requirements that need to be achieved by using the mold temperature machine. For example, the plastic industry uses a temperature of 90-100°C, so you can choose a water temperature machine and an oil temperature machine. In the hot pressing mold temperature control industry, the temperature is as high as 200-220°C, so you can only choose a high-temperature oil temperature machine.

Standard 3: Calculation of the heating power of the mold temperature machine

The heating power of the mold temperature machine is selected according to the heat demand. Through heat balance analysis and calculation, the calculation methods of molds, platens, rollers, reactors and other industries are different. Standard 4: Cooling method of mold temperature machine

When choosing a mold temperature machine, it is also necessary to pay attention to the cooling method of the heat transfer medium. The cooling method is divided into direct and indirect. The indirect cooling method uses the cooling circuit separated from the main circuit. The heat transfer medium used in this cooling method is generally oil type. The heat of the cooling medium is absorbed by the heat medium and directly enters the exchange valve. The indirect cooling method uses cooling water to directly enter the circuit. Instead of using a heat exchanger, this cooling method can greatly improve the cooling capacity of the system, and then quickly cool down the heat transfer medium.

Standard 5: Structural form of mold temperature machine

The mold temperature machine is divided into several structural forms such as single loop: double loop, multi-loop control system, etc. First of all, it is necessary to distinguish what is a single loop, double loop and multi-loop control system. The single-loop control system has compact structure and small volume. There are many series according to its temperature control range. The dual-loop control system is used when the temperature required by the movable and fixed platens of the mold is different, and the temperature of the two loops is controlled and the flow rate of the pump is adjusted according to the temperature requirements of the two platens. At the same time, the cooling water power supply and the host power supply are connected in the same junction box, which reduces the size of the whole machine. The multi-loop control system contains multiple separate loops, and each loop is used to control different temperatures required in the product forming stage.
