Moulding Method of Plastic Moulding Machine


The processing of plastic moulding machine is an engineering technology that involves various processes that transform plastics into plastic products. During the transformation process, one or more situations such as polymer rheology and changes in physical and chemical properties will occur.


Ⅰ. Press moulding of plastic moulding machine


The main equipment for compression folding is the press and the mould. The most used presses are self-supporting hydraulic presses with tonnage from dozens of tons to hundreds of tons. There are down presses and up presses. The moulds used for compression moulding are called pressing moulds, which include overflow moulds, semi-overflow molds, and non-overflow moulds. The main advantage of compression moulding is that it can be moulded into larger flat products and can be mass-produced. The disadvantage is its long production cycle and low efficiency.


Ⅱ. Injection moulding of plastic moulding machine


Lamination moulding of plastic molding machinery is commonly operated by laminators. This type of press is equipped with multi-layer floating hot pressing plates between the dynamic pressing plate and the fixed pressing plate. The commonly used reinforcing materials for lamination are cotton cloth, glass cloth, paper, asbestos cloth, etc. The resins include phenolic, epoxy, unsaturated polyester and some thermoplastic resins.


Ⅲ. Extrusion of plastic moulding machine


Extrusion is a method in which materials are continuously formed through a die in a flowing state by heating and pressurizing in an extruder of plastic molding equipment. The extrusion method is mainly used for thermoplastic moulding, and can also be used for some thermosetting plastics. The extruded products are continuous profiles such as tubes, rods, silk sheets, films, cable coverings, etc. In addition, it can also be used for the mixing, granulation, colouring and blending of plastics. The extrusion machine is composed of main parts such as the extrusion device, transmission mechanism, heating and cooling systems. There are screw type and plunger type extruders, the former extrusion process is continuous while the latter is intermittent. The basic structure of a single-screw extruder mainly includes the transmission device, feeding device, barrel, screw, head and die. The auxiliary equipment of the extruder includes pre-processing equipment (such as material conveying and drying), extrudate processing equipment (shaping, cooling, pulling, cutting or rolling) and production condition control equipment.


Ⅳ. Pultrusion of plastic moulding machine


Pultrusion of plastic molding machinery is one of the moulding methods of thermosetting fibre-reinforced plastics. It is used to produce profiles with a fixed cross-sectional shape and unlimited length. The moulding process is to draw out the continuous fiber impregnated with resin glue by heating mould, and then further solidify the resin through a heating chamber to prepare unidirectional high-strength continuous reinforced plastic profiles.


The resins usually used for pultrusion are unsaturated polyester, epoxy and silicone, of which unsaturated polyester is the most used. The extrusion-pultrusion machine is usually composed of the fiber arrangement device, resin tank, preforming device, die and heating device, pulling device and cutting device.
